A Poem A Day 7: “ulysses” and an event in St. Catherines tonight.

April 7, 2012

ulysses

leopold bloom and stephen dedalus are lost

unaware of their powers.

bloom introvert

bringing truth in the

definition of self.

dedalus moves mountains

in his search for identity

he finds none until

he looks for something else.

bloom dedalus dedalus and bloom

dead blooms forge freedom

in a world of transition

but it is molly who slays the dragon

and frees the future in ulysses.

now desire

oh yes

callous

determination

there is no foe.

I am unaware of the source (I found it on my computer), but if you know I will credit.

I ran a race this morning, took my kids on an Easter egg hunt and am now relaxing before I bus it up to St. Catherines for this:
