The Upside of ‘Marrying Down’

Today, a successful single man who falls for a woman making less career than she does or not sharing her money ambition may face not-so-subtle friends from disapproval and patient. One family of mine reported being told, “I’m surprised you haven’t found someone who is more your equal.” Another felt insulted when a trusted man asked, “Are you sure you wouldn’t be happier with a friend who is making more money than you?”
